Even busy bees stop and smell the roses

“No bees, no honey; no work, no money.” – Proverb

Having loads of fun with loose style acrylic artworks. The bee is my new favourite subject, with lots of layers and movement.

Fun facts about bees:

- They beat their wings 11,400 times in one minute, making them very noisy.

- Only female bees can sting. Male bees don’t have stingers.

- They communicate through a series of dance moves.

- They have an exceptional sense of smell and use the sun to help them navigate.

- They can fly over 55,000 miles to make 1lb of honey and create 100lbs of honey in a year..

- They have been around for 100 million years
